The Spine Institute Center for Spinal Restoration in Los Angeles, CA, is proud to announce that Dr. Hyun Bae, Medical Director at the center, is a recipient of the 2016 Spine Surgeon Leadership Award.
Becker’s Healthcare, a leading provider of cutting-edge information for healthcare industry professionals, granted this prestigious award to just 22 recipients this year, none of whom have been recognized in previous years.
In addition to his work at The Spine Institute, Dr. Bae is the professor of surgery and director of spine education at Cedars-Sinai Spine Center. Dr. Bae is most interested in failed back surgery syndrome, spinal stenosis, and spondylitis, with active interests in minimally invasive surgery and treating lumbar and cervical spinal disease.
Dr. Bae most recently contributed to the development of Stryker’s Aero-C Cervical Stability System that was recently launched. The new stability system is used for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. He was also awarded a National Institutes of Health grant in 2014 and a North American Spine Society research grant in 2015. These grants have aided in Dr. Bae’s ongoing research efforts, including growth factor tissue engineering for intervertebral discs in the lumbar and cervical spine.
