If you need a refill for a medication that was provided to you by a Spine Institute physician, please have your pharmacy fax your prescription refill request to our office at (310) 828-6687. Prescription refills are handled during normal business hours Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
The Spine Institute physicians advise patients to keep careful watch over the amount of medication that they have remaining. If your prescription is running low, make arrangements to fill your prescription as soon as possible. Each request needs approval and may take up to 48 hours to be refilled. We also ask that you do not call physician’s assistants for refills.
If you are receiving narcotic pain medications from one of The Spine Institute physicians, you will need a handwritten prescription from your physician for each refill. To ensure that you have access to the medication you need, please plan in advance for refills as our physicians are not in the office every day, and your request may take up to 48 hours to be filled.
Pain medications will not be prescribed if you have not had an office visit within the past 30 days. However, if you plan to be out of town and know you will run out of your medication while away, extra medication may be prescribed to you at the discretion of your physician.
You are responsible for the safekeeping of all your prescriptions, including written slips. Lost, damaged, or stolen prescriptions will not be refilled until they were due to run out, as directed on the prescription.
